Stoic is a firm specializing in political marketing and business intelligence, located in Tel Aviv, Israel. Meta discovered that the firm was operating an influence campaign using fake accounts on Facebook. This campaign targeted individuals in the United States and Canada, focusing on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Background
Meta's investigation revealed a network consisting of 510 Facebook accounts, 11 pages, 32 Instagram accounts, and one group, all linked to the campaign. These included both fake and previously hacked accounts. The fake personas included "Jewish students, African Americans, and 'concerned' citizens," posting content that supported Israel's military actions while criticizing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and college protests. Additionally, in Canada, they posted Islamophobic comments suggesting that "radical Islam poses a threat to liberal values in Canada."

Besides Facebook and Instagram, Stoic was also active on X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, as well as running websites that covered the Israel-Hamas war and broader Middle Eastern politics. The campaign reached about 500 followers on Facebook and around 2,000 on Instagram. Many comments on pages belonging to politicians, media outlets, and public figures appeared to be generated by AI tools. These comments often linked back to the campaign's websites but frequently faced backlash from real users, who identified them as propaganda, according to David Agranovich, Meta’s policy director for threat disruption.
