Android Phones
When we recommend Android phones, even though the Android operating system is owned by Google, it is because the phones themselves are not owned by Google. At the same time, it is possible to use an Android phone without being tied to Google’s services.

According to the official BDS pressure target strategy, a total boycott of Google may be difficult, and in such cases, it is recommended to pressure the company and minimize the use of its products and services as much as possible. This may include:

- Avoiding providing payment details or paying for their services and products.

- Using ad blockers to reduce their revenue from advertisements.

- Using F-Droid or Aurora Store instead of Google Play.

- Replacing Google services with alternatives such as Proton Mail, NewPipe, and OsmAnd.

- Protecting privacy with Blokada, RethinkDNS, and mobile browsers with built-in ad blocking to block tracking, ads, and advertisements online, including Google and YouTube.

Apple Phones and iOS
Apple is marked red on Gaza.nu, and we therefore do not recommend buying Apple phones. If one still wishes to get an Apple phone or Apple parts, we suggest buying used and following the same principles as with Android phones: using ad blockers, avoiding payments for Apple services, etc.
